We Never Meet

2015 / HD video, installation /

In Gilles Deleuze’s words dreaming of islands is either dreaming of pulling away or dreaming of starting from scratch. We Never Meet is a video installation and an attempt to build an imaginary island between the intesified threshold and impossible space where the land and the sea come together. Marking this exact border is pointless, as every tidal wave changes the line where liquid matter meets solid and vice-a-versa. Laying down under this impossible space facing the sky, earth and waves, one might as well become that impossible line through the disruption in space. But as the division disappears in front of one’s very own eyes, all certainty about crossing any kind of border becomes questionable.

The installation is comprised of an acrylic rear projected screen, Japanese futon mattress, pillows and HD video depicting the meeting of land and sea.
